Who Are We

Our History

St. Philip Church of God in Christ was founded in the early 1900’s Supt. Henry M. Evans became pastor in 1946. From its beginning, St. Philip became known as a true powerhouse for spreading the Gospel and sharing the miraculous healing power of Christ.

Supt. Evans considered Pastor William Lynch his spiritual son and trusted him to continue the work at St. Philip. Pastor Lynch, known for his deep knowledge of Scripture and his remarkable ability to quote the Word from memory, faithfully led the church for decades. In March 2021, he passed the mantle to his son, Pastor Martaz Lynch.

Though a devastating fire displaced our congregation just months later, St. Philip Church of God in Christ continues to stand strong rebuilding both physically and spiritually, anchored in faith and God’s promise.

Our Mission

St. Philip Church of God in Christ aims to lead people into the life-changing presence of God, help believers mature in their faith, and selflessly serve our surrounding community. We desire people to experience wholeness, walk in divine purpose, and dwell in the grace and glory of Jesus Christ through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Our Beliefs

We Believe In:

Holiness and Righteous Living. Living a life that honors God in the word and our action.
Freedom Through the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. Allowing God’s Spirit to break every chain and empower us to live victoriously.
Healing and Restoration for the Whole Person. Spirit, soul, and body, through the power and presence of Jesus Christ.
Bearing the Fruit of the Spirit. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, as the evidence of a life transformed by God.

Romans 15:7 reminds us, “Receive one another, just as Christ received you, to the glory of God.”

We serve God by serving people and we welcome all just as Christ welcomed us. Every act of kindness, every moment of worship, and every open door is a reflection of His love.
